Why are imperfectly spelled searches "good enough" for Google? Here is a spelling corrector that does the job in only 20 lines of Python code

I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at Mississippi State University. I work under the INST with Dr. TJ researching user interaction on large-scale displays. My other academic interests include computational linguistics, medical image acquisition/analysis/processing, and foreign languages.
